Professional Ethics and Disciplinary Law

The subject of professional proceedings, the "disciplinary law of the liberal professions", is the accusation that a member of the profession has violated the rules of professional conduct. Professional law proceedings may not only entail a considerable risk of sanctions up to and including exclusion from the profession, in many cases, such proceedings are also the starting point for civil law claims for damages by clients, patients, investors, etc. Frequently, professional law proceedings are conducted parallel to preliminary criminal proceedings against the professional or can be triggered by such preliminary proceedings.
